Laura Konttinen (b. 1987) is a Helsinki-based visual artist best known for her surreal photographs created with delicate handwork. Laura Konttinen’s work has been featured in various exhibitions and photo festivals both in Finland and internationally. Her work has been acquired by several art collections including the State art collection of Finland, Jyväskylä Art Museum and Augustenborg Collection in Denmark. Konttinen holds a Master of Arts in Photography from Aalto University, Finland and a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Tampere University of Applied Sciences, Finland.
Konttinen’s works represented in Augustenborg Collection are: Becoming a Tree (2012), Creature of Treasure (2012), The Land of Turning Luck (2014), The Meeting Point of the Lost Ones (2014), After the Gate (2016), Old Sepia Rock (2016) and Phoenix Tree (2016) (each pigment print, mounted diasec style (glossy acrylic surface, dibond aluminium backing)).
Konttinen’s outside works represented in Augustenborg Collection are The Gate, Leather Fields, The House, Witch Cave, The Great Fire, Cemetery and Blackbirds.
