A lock is a short section of a canal or river controlling the water level, which sometimes takes the form of a narrow passage one has to pass on the way. Opening a lock, one can be sure to release great forces.
At Augustenborg_Project SLUSEN (danish for lock), we invite especially local creatives to try forces with an exhibition possibility, that lies somewhere between the local café and a more institutional art space, like the one upstairs. Here we would like to create an opportunity for creatives to try and float on deeper waters, while still keeping the safety net.
We hope you will welcome them.
Jeppe Nedergaard
In his works Jeppe Nedergaard isolates his motives, depicting them in a moment of introvert reflection. With quick brush strokes and only just enough details, Nedergaard aims to capture that fleeting moment and energy which his motives initially sparked in him. Like a line dancer who keeps his pace to not lose balance, he paints with high energy and contrasting colour, and manages to avoid falling into melancholia, which seems like waiting just around the corner.
