Iker García Barrenetxea (b. 1979) is a Basque painter. With a background in Fine Arts, he blends traditional and contemporary techniques in drawing, painting and printing to create original pieces. Barrenetxea spent two transformative decades in East London, a period crucial to his personal and artistic growth. Early in his career, he showcased his work in a collective at the prestigious Mall Galleries. In 2010, Barrenetxea established The Vyner Studio, an artist-run space in East London, fostering a vibrant creative community. In 2017, he returned to San Sebastian. His work is held by Gordailua, the Center for Heritage Collections of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, and by the Danish art fund, where he also created an installation. Currently, Barrenetxea is engaged in new projects at his atelier in San Sebastián: La Droguería.
